COMES WITH RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES AND CHARGER. You won't find anything like this unique device anywhere. It is a delight to use, looks amazing, and really fun. This is a one of a kind prototype unit built upon a Sony ZSRS60BT. This means that you can listen to CD's, Mp3's on a USB stick, anything that plugs into a 3.5mm 'auxiliary in' stereo port (such as a vintage Walkman cassette player). PLUS it has Bluetooth and will pickup tunes or podcasts from your phone. However, it also has vastly improved sound and controls taking this budget Sony sound machine into a new realm of audio. The improved sound are from the included top-line Cambridge SoundWorks outdoor speakers . The unit has added speaker ports for this purpose. The original speakers work just fine, but if you want to plug in the bigger speakers you get a vast improvement of sound quality.
This unit is also inspired by movie props - additional lighted switches and buttons are now required to power up the device. It has multiple indicator lights. All are functional.
It was created purely in the spirit of fun and musical appreciation.
I purpose built this for camping, but it will also be great anyplace you need portable music. It runs on batteries (included!) and you can listen to podcasts or news with the built-in speakers and jam to great sounding music with auxiliary speakers which are incredibly easy to activate. It is light weight and easy to carry around. The speakers can handle weather (the player need to be protected from weather) so I can chill to great music even on a stormy camping day.
Personally, I believe this is far better than a standard Bluetooth speaker because of the adjustable stereo sound field, unique mobility, and cool design. It also has the advantage of playing your vintage CD collection or Mp3 files for those days when the internet ain't working like it should.
IMPORTANT: To utilize the auxiliary speakers the internal speakers must be turned off. A switch has been added for this purpose. A custom manual will be included that explains the additional equipment and how to use.
IMPORTANT: This device will only work on 6 "C" batteries. No power cord is included because the wall plug power input is non-functional. However, six rechargeable batteries and a charger are included. You will have everything you need to start using immediately.
