Black Citizen Cbm 777 Vintage Personal Cd Player

This is a CBM 777 made by Citizen, the watch people. For real. It is or maybe was a Japanese company and apparently they had more luck with high-end watches than portable CD players because here we are. She’s a relic. Ya dig? I found her in my childhood closet.
She’s also basically New in Box. I never even opened the package with the stickers! Though my husband is in disagreement with me that it is in fact NIB, because he says the very fact it is from 1988 means it is not new. But what the hell does he know?!
As soon as I found her I stuck an Adele CD in to see if she still worked and wouldn’t you know, this bad girl turned on and started spinning! So, I hooked up my old-ass Apple headphones and heard her play!
How did it sound?! Awful. Like legit, it sounds bad. Lots of fuzzies. Probably audio people have a different name for it, but my point is Adele sounded awful and she never sounds awful. I guess that’s what a 1988 personal CD player does to Adele.
