Magnavox cd player as in the photo was the first cd player in the U.S. It was made by Philips, made in Holand, as Philips CD100 known to the rest of the world.
It has the now very sought after Philips TDA 1540 DAC chip and Philips heavy metal commercial grade swing arm laser head. It is a great foundation for audiophile grade upgrades and modifications if desired.
Without any upgrades, it is now an audio piece remembered as the world's first CD player. thus very collectable.
This for sale unit is in otherwise excellent + cosmetics. It does have one small crack damage on the right corner, please refers to the photo4. the rest of the metal chassis is excellent. Photo 2 and 3 show both sides are great.
I plugged the AC cord in to the wall and turned it on, the unit made some mechanical sound, as if relay switches tried to work. Thus it is for repair and restoration.
