For sale is a Nakamichi OMS-7 CD player in remarkably good condition. It is packaged in both original boxes (outer shipping box and inner product box). It will be packaged in a 3rd box to retain the "patina" (stickers, markings, etc) of the shipping box. All original inner packing material is also present. The original remote and owners manual are included. The shipping screw holding the tray secure is installed and will need to be removed (see sticker on the bottom of the player) prior to use. I looked for scratches and other marks but didn't see any. There may be one or more small ones that my old eyes missed.
IT DOESN'T WORK CORRECTLY. The tray opens and closes as it should. WHEN A CD IS LOADED, IT SHOWS 'STANDBY' BUT IT WON'T PLAY. THE TRAY THEN EJECTS. THE ONLY OTHER THING I TRIED IS TO FF TO THE NEXT TRACK. IT SHOWS THAT IT GOES TO IT BUT THEN SHOWS STANDBY AND EJECTS. IT IS SOLD AS IS!!!!
I purchased it as shown a year ago with the intention of tuning it up (new belts, lubrication, etc) to see if thst would help. If it didn't, I was going to send it to one of the well known Naka techs to bring it back to life. My time and money have gone into other projects. It's priced at it's value to me. If it sells to someone who values it as I do, fantastic. If not, I'll get around to it sometime. The handwritten note on the shipping box (see photo) was written at the time of purchase by the original owner.
